Lisa Beritzhoff, M.A., M.F.T.

Qualifications
I work with individuals, adolescents, and couples. My training and experience enable me to address a range of issues, including relationship difficulties, depression and anxiety, professional/career dilemmas and transitions, adolescent and family conflicts, issues regarding sexual orientation and identity, significant life changes, and grief and trauma.

I have been a Psychotherapist for over ten years and am licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. I am an active member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. I am licensed and qualified to work with individuals (adults and teens), lead adolescent therapy groups, and work with couples and families. I have extensive training in individual psychoanalytic psychotherapy and group therapy.

For seven years I was Director of Counseling at The Branson School in Ross, California, where I worked with adolescents and their families, conducting brief therapy and crisis interventions. Working with adolescents to help them navigate key developmental hurdles and/or family and school difficulties continues to be rewarding for me.

I hold a master"s degree in Counseling and Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies and a master"s degree in Organizational Psychology and Leadership from the University of California, Santa Barbara. My interest in psychology began during my former career as a collegiate tennis coach. As a coach I observed firsthand that obstacles to success and fulfillment are often emotionally and psychologically rooted. Today, in my work as a therapist, I continue to help individuals discover and work through psychological blocks that limit personal and interpersonal fulfillment.
